Stone Face

I dig
Thick clumps of dirt fly
I bury
Deep down
Far beneath the surface of a stone face
Hot warmth melts ice
But men don't cry
"Don't be a bitch,"
They say, "only girls cry"
Yet I cry inside
But, I'm no girl
I breathe in the toxins of reality
My masculinity lives in a glass house
Yet everyone itches to throw stones
They can't see the cracks
Every moment that passes my facade fades leaving a scared little boy
A shell of something meant to be big… and strong
But I'm no rock
So stone faced
I waiver
Inside my throat swells and tears begin to fall
But
Men can't cry
So I die inside
Here I sit
Digging a grave for the boy whose life crumbled away beneath the stone's weight

I'm so stone faced when I die inside
